  1. Perfect reminder for people like me who can get caught up much too easily in things that don’t matter. In fact, I’m in the midst of one of those times now and trying to determine how to sift out what’s unimportant from what is eternally important.

  2. Laura, this made me think of one of my favourite movies, “About a Boy” starring Hugh Grant. Grant is a rich, shallow guy whose life is changed when he meets a nerdy, needy teenage boy. When he finally wakes up and sees the emptiness of his own life he says to himself (I’m paraphrasing) “I had everything – the problem was, it didn’t MEAN anything.” Better to fail at what does matter than succeed at what doesn’t. Thanks for sharing this quote.
